What's the difference between Fenergo and Know Your Customer Limited?
They sit at different layers. Fenergo is a client lifecycle management platform — the governed workflow, case management and regulatory rulebooks that run onboarding across an institution. We are the data layer underneath: company records, original registry documents, shareholders and ultimate beneficial owners, read from the official register on demand.
Can Know Your Customer Limited replace Fenergo?
Usually not, and we would rather say so. If you need a governed system of record for a global bank’s client lifecycle, that is not what we are, and we are not trying to be. We do offer a compliance workspace with risk scoring, workflows and perpetual review, and for many mid-sized institutions that is all the workflow they need — but where a platform like Fenergo already exists, we feed it rather than displace it.
When should I use Fenergo instead of you?
When the problem you are solving is the workflow, not the data. If you are standardising onboarding across every business line and jurisdiction, need one governed audit trail, and have a multi-year programme and a delivery team behind it, that is what Fenergo is built for, and independent analysts rate it there. Buying a data layer will not fix a workflow problem.
Also worth knowing where we are slower. Live company data comes back in seconds. Ordering an original document is not always instant — in a number of jurisdictions the register itself processes the order, which can take a day or two. We would rather you heard that from us than discovered it in week three.
Do you work alongside Fenergo?
We can sit alongside it, but we want to be precise about what that means. Know Your Customer Limited has no partnership or integration agreement with Fenergo, and the two are separate products. What we offer is a REST API that returns live registry records and resolved ownership; an institution running Fenergo can call it from its own workflow, as it would any external data source, with its own team doing the wiring. We would rather describe it that way than imply a connection that does not exist.
